The Heidetor (Heath Gate) is one of Zerbst's few remaining city gates and a striking testament to the former city fortifications. It originated in the Middle Ages as an exit gate towards the Zerbst Heath and marked the transition between the city and the surrounding countryside for centuries. With its simple, fortified appearance, the Heidetor is a reminder of protection, control, and the importance of trade routes and access roads. Today, as a historical structure, it shapes the cityscape and, together with the nearby Church of the Holy Trinity, forms a distinctive entrance to Zerbst's old town.

Historic city wall with tower

The simple Baroque altarpiece bears the painting "Christ and the Sinner," a gift from Duke Leopold III Friedrich of Anhalt-Dessau. The church interior was extensively renovated after 1991 and is in good condition. The organ, however, is in need of major repair due to its poor condition, especially since it is one of the most historically valuable instruments in this region. In 1996, Magdeburg artist Richard O. The fieldstone church consists of a nave, a square choir, and a smaller, semicircular apse. The stones are evenly stacked up to the windows. An 18th-century half-timbered turret with yellow brick, a Baroque cap, and a lantern-shaped top sits on the western gable of the nave. The ridge turret and the nave roof are in very poor condition.
