It is the most important pilgrimage site in Lower Austria and the second largest in Austria after Mariazell. The basilica is an impressive early Baroque building with a striking twin-tower facade.

The castle is prominently situated on a rock on the right bank of the Danube, above the municipality of Persenbeug-Gottsdorf, at the transition from the Strudengau to the Nibelungengau.

Near Pyburg in the Mostviertel region, the cycle bridge spans the underwater channel of the Enns Canal, connecting both banks. It is part of the Enns-Danube Cycle Route and allows cyclists to cross the canal safely and comfortably. The bridge runs through a natural setting with riparian forests and river landscapes, offering clear views of the surrounding cultural landscape of the Mostviertel.

Booking a guided tour here is definitely worthwhile. A room entirely covered in mosaics made of Danube pebbles or the diamond vault are truly impressive. That alone is worth it.

The beautiful courtyard, the diamond vault, and the Mosaic Room (made entirely of small pebbles) are definitely worth a visit. Individual rooms can be explored independently, while the state rooms are only accessible with a pre-booked guided tour.
