Grein 시내 광장 바로 옆에 있는 교회는 성 아에기디우스 교구 교회입니다. 이곳은 건축학적으로 눈길을 끄는 곳일 뿐만 아니라 흥미로운 이야기도 담고 있습니다. 교회는 15세기에 지어진 후기 고딕 양식의 건물입니다. 안으로 들어가면 3개의 통로가 있는 홀의 화려한 교차 리브 볼트를 볼 수 있습니다. 오스트리아의 많은 교회와 마찬가지로 나중에 바로크 양식으로 개조되었습니다. 특히 제단(1749년경)은 진정한 걸작입니다. '벽으로 막힌' 탑: 탑 입구에는 기묘한 이야기가 있습니다. 이 입구는 1600년경 어린 소녀 살해 사건 이후 '신성 모독'으로 간주되어 수세기 동안 벽으로 막혔습니다. 2004년에 다시 개방되어 현재는 장애인용 출입구로 사용되고 있습니다.

Grein is easily accessible and explored by bicycle and lies directly on the Danube Cycle Path (EuroVelo 6). This historic town on the Danube is a popular stop for cyclists and offers a well-developed, flat cycling infrastructure along the river. The town center, the riverbanks, and attractions such as Greinburg Castle, the Grein town wall, and the historic town theater are all easily reached from the cycle path. Rest areas, restaurants, and cyclist-friendly businesses make Grein an attractive destination for day trips as well as longer cycling tours along the Danube.

The town boasts a picturesque, historic town square lined with 16th- and 17th-century houses featuring Baroque facades. The entire place exudes a nostalgic, tranquil charm.

Booking a guided tour here is definitely worthwhile. A room entirely covered in mosaics made of Danube pebbles or the diamond vault are truly impressive. That alone is worth it.

The beautiful courtyard, the diamond vault, and the Mosaic Room (made entirely of small pebbles) are definitely worth a visit. Individual rooms can be explored independently, while the state rooms are only accessible with a pre-booked guided tour.
