This historic town on the Danube is a popular stop for cyclists and offers a well-developed, flat cycling infrastructure along the river. The town center, the riverbanks, and attractions such as Greinburg Castle, the Grein town wall, and the historic town theater are all easily reached from the cycle path. Rest areas, restaurants, and cyclist-friendly businesses make Grein an attractive destination for day trips as well as longer cycling tours along the Danube.

The town boasts a picturesque, historic town square lined with 16th- and 17th-century houses featuring Baroque facades. The entire place exudes a nostalgic, tranquil charm.

Booking a guided tour here is definitely worthwhile. A room entirely covered in mosaics made of Danube pebbles or the diamond vault are truly impressive. That alone is worth it.
