The Co-op has a cafe inside so you can get a coffee or a bacon roll. Unsurprisingly, there's no bike parking so it's more a place to grab something than stop.

Radio interferometry started in the mid-1940s on the outskirts of Cambridge, but with funding from the Science Research Council and a corporate donation of £100,000 from Mullard Limited, a leading commercial manufacturer of thermionic valves. Construction of the Mullard Radio Astronomy Observatory commenced at Lords Bridge Air Ammunition Park,[1] a few kilometres to the west of Cambridge. The observatory was founded under Martin Ryle of the Radio-Astronomy Group of the Cavendish Laboratory, University of Cambridge and was opened by Sir Edward Victor Appleton on 25 July 1957. Visit The Blackbird's Nest Mobile Coffee Shop, based in Barrington church car park. Tuesday-Saturday 8am to 12pm. Serving outrageously good coffee, tea, soft drinks, pastries, and cooked breakfast rolls

New tarmac on a wide road with hardly any traffic makes a great stretch for an interval segment.

You can find similar markers on lots of roads in the area that cross the meridian line.

Days bakery and food hall a must stop

This cafe has now changed management and is called Waffle and Coffee. Still has bike racks and outside seating although I did not see the bike locks last time I was there. Staff still great and the food is even better. Bacon and egg sandwich is very good. Coffee, Tea and cakes and of course waffles. Good clean toilets so well worth visiting as a rest stop.

Lovely flowing descent with some sweeping corners on smooth new tarmac. Great fun to lean into at speed.

Farm courtyard hosting a few independent businesses including a deli / cafe: open Wed-Sat 8.30-4.00 & Sun 10.00-2.00. Plenty of outdoor seating in the warmer weather.

Nice little rolling hill.

Not as steep as Croydon Hill...but nearer to Cambridge! It does touch just over 10% from both sides but for longer from the Haslingfield side.

More fun from the Haslingfield side as you don't need to brake on the descent. Also, The Royal Oak in Barrington is decent. Is this steeper than Croydon hill though?

A straight 700m climb with a shallow but steady 3.5% gradient - you can see the top from the bottom so good for a quick hill climb contest in the big ring.

Beautiful bluebell wood in late April. Well worth a stop.

The radio telescopes are on the track bed of the old Oxford to Cambridge railway line.

The Mullard Radio Astronomy Observatory (MRAO) is home to some of the largest and most advanced radio telescopes in the world.
