9월 7, 2024, Gravel Path
Definitely gravel surface, a nice wide one, too, despite Komoot/OSM identifying it as a "white" road

1월 1, 2024, The River Cam in Cambridge
The view over the Cam is definitely worth it, but you won't be the only one knowing this and it is almost always a bit crowded on the bridge making it a bit chaotic in combination with the traffic.

9월 24, 2023, Great Gransden Windmill
"The 17th century windmill is owned by Cambridgeshire County Council and is the fifth oldest post mill in the country. The mill is a scheduled monument, one of 15 monuments owned by the County Council. Post mills are one of the earliest types of windmill and are based around a central pole, which meant they could be turned to catch the breeze." Something to enjoy 👀 - if it was working in a day like today with SW 🌬 @27 km/h would b efficient. (Not great for cycling, though).

Cycling along the Backs provides a great view over the greens behind the big colleges of Cambridge - quite a stark contrast against the often narrow streets on their fronts (except for Kings of course). Only an evening beer on one of the college greens along the Cam gives a better experience, but then you need access of course.

6월 17, 2023, Queens' College, University of Cambridge
Queens' College was founded in 1448 by Margaret of Anjou and refounded in 1465 by the rival queen Elizabeth Woodville. This dual foundation is reflected in its orthography: Queens', not Queen's, although the full name is "The Queen's College of St Margaret and St Bernard, commonly called Queens' College, in the University of Cambridge".[6][7] In 1446 Andrew Dokett obtained a charter from Henry VI to found St Bernard's College, on a site now part of St Catharine's College. A year later the charter was revoked and Dokett obtained a new charter from the king to found St Bernard's College on the present site of Old Court and Cloister Court. In 1448 Queen Margaret received from her husband, King Henry VI, the lands of St Bernard's College to build a new college to be called "Queen's College of St Margaret and St Bernard". On 15 April 1448, Sir John Wenlock, chamberlain to Queen Margaret, laid the foundation stone at the south-east corner of the chapel. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queens%27_College,_Cambridge)

12월 21, 2022, View of King's College Chapel from The Backs
An area of parkland along the River Cam, the Cambridge Backs, or usually known as The Backs, give a different perspective of the Cambridge Colleges. Across the water, the backs of the colleges can be seen from here and are quite different to the front.
