이 교회는 1839년 Malpas에 있는 St Oswald's 교회의 보조 예배당으로 지어졌는데, 이는 당시 지역 인구가 빠르게 증가했기 때문입니다. 건축가는 Lancaster 출신의 Edmund Sharpe로, 고딕 리바이벌 양식의 교회 건축으로 잘 알려진 인물이었습니다. 부지는 Oulton의 Sir Philip Grey Egerton이 기증했으며, 건축 자금은 대중의 모금을 통해 마련되었습니다. 총 2,000파운드 정도가 모였으나, 그중 700파운드만이 교회 자체를 짓는 데 사용되었습니다. 나머지 300파운드는 목회자를 위한 사택을 짓는 데 쓰였고, 남은 금액은 목회자의 수입을 보장하기 위해 투자되었습니다. 또한 이 교회는 Incorporated Church Building Society로부터 120파운드의 보조금을 받았습니다. 1840년 1월 7일 Chester의 주교인 John Sumner에 의해 봉헌되었으며, 1869년에는 독립적인 교구 교회로 승격되었습니다. 이 건물은 2등급(Grade II) 문화유산으로 지정되어 있으며 현재도 활발히 운영되는 교구 교회입니다. 교회 묘지에는 교차로를 내려다보는 위치에 전쟁 기념비가 있습니다.

Beeston Castle is a former Royal castle in Beeston, Cheshire, England, perched on a rocky sandstone crag 350 feet above the Cheshire Plain. It was built in the 1220s by Ranulf de Blondeville, 6th Earl of Chester, on his return from the Crusades.

Nice little cafe that welcomes cyclists. Good for and drink and a lovely atmosphere.

Great place to stop, especially on a sunny day. Lots of parking and places to leave your bike

Beeston Castle is well worth a visit...the climb up the hill is rewarded with great views over the Cheshire Plain

nice view to the surrounding area. the route to the castle not suitable for a road bike, you may need to carry your bike on some parts

English Heritage maintained castle ruins sitting high on top of the hill. Like so much in the area it was destroyed in the Civil War.
