Car park 300m to the west if you don't want to walk all the way from Market Weighton. Steep chalk embankment with meadow underneath. Very scenic and I saw a small flock of jet black Hebridean sheep.

The Yorkshire Wolds Way passes close by to here and there are are plenty of wide open fields, resplendent in bright yellow rapeseed in the spring, to enjoy.

Great place if you get a call of nature, only talking number 1s here folks

The route from Beverley is excellent and the roads are extremely quiet

If the weather is a bit wet the trail gets flooded in places and is very muddy

Nice place to stop, or carry on a further mile and a bit to reach Market Weighton itself, has a large Tescos plus a bakers etc

Located just outside Kiplingcotes hamlet, Kiplingcotes Chalk Pit Nature Reserve is a disused quarry which is now a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Amongst the chalk grassland, you will find various flowers such as knapweed and salad burnet as well as butterflies, long-tailed field mice, goldfinches and yellowhammers. During winter, you can also spot Hebridean sheep and Exmoor ponies who graze here to keep the grasses in check.
