Wold Newton is located within the Great Wold Valley and the course of the Gypsey Race, a winterbourne chalk stream, which passes through the south of the village. The parish church of All Saints is a Grade II listed building, and there are a further eight Grade II listed buildings in the village.

Danes Dyke Nature Preserve is a 148 acre, dramatic and lush nature reserve on the Flamborough Head Heritage Coast.

RSPB Bempton Cliffs is a nature reserve managed for the seabirds. The visitor centre is open to the public with lots of information as well as a shop, cafe and toilets. Look out for Gannett, Guillemot and Puffin as well as Barn Owls. The coast path is always fun to run, the hills aren't huge here but it's twisty and undulating as it follows the shape of the coast. Most of this section offers the choice between a winding narrow trail that follows the edge of the coast or a wider slightly straighter trail slightly inland that cuts some of the corners.
