Great place to stay, luxurious and friendly and they even stick black sheep brewery Holy Grail Ale. Truly a wonder to behold

Stayed the night here on a rather cold night in early March. Despite the cold the weather was sunny and I had a wonderful sleep. Although don't expect to get a mobile reception. I must say a big thank you to the Bolton Estate for allowing walkers/cyclists/bikepackers to use this wonderful facility. If you use it please make sure you leave it as you would expect to find it.

The only pub in Keld. It’s dog friendly and hikers are welcomed

Closed after a rainy day hike...soul destroying event that I don't think I will be able to recover from! Caught it open two days later. Not much there by way of coffee, or cakes. Plenty of stickies and ice cream though. More than anything it is a stunning location, the owners are charming, and has outside seating.

On the facade of Keld Lodge hangs a sign that can be seen as an encouragement to the Coast-to-Coast walker... although for those who walk in the original direction (west to east) the toughest half is behind them.
