Ivelet Bridge is a Grade II-listed structure that dates back to the late 16th century. Like many beauty spots around Swaledale and Wensleydale, it featured in the BBC's adaptation of James Herriot's novels, All Creatures Great and Small. In fact, the low-level version of the Herriot Way, a circular long-distance trail that follows the route author James Alfie Wight took with his son Jimmy, passes the bridge.

Built in the early 1830s as a way of providing employment for the people affected by the depression in the lead mining industry. The bridge was washed away in and rebuilt. It carries the B6270 over the river Swale.

A dead straight ancient roman road that's best tackled on a gravel or MTB. From Bainbridge the ascent is very rocky, smoother on the descent to Ribbleshead Viaduct. The views are second to none from up here, especially on a clear day you can see for miles!
