Rondvassbu is the DNT cabin in the very heart of the Rondane National Park and is deservedly popular. Originally built in 1903, the facility has seen many renovations in its time and provides unrivalled access to Rondane’s major peaks and trails. If you plan to camp nearby, you can still pay for the use of the facilities and purchase food.

Rondslottet is the highest peak in the Rondane range at 2,178 metres (7,146 ft). It's the crowning point of a rugged and complex massif that along contains neighbouring Storronden. The peak is usually either climbed from Rondvassbu to the south-west via Rondholet and Vinjeronden, or from Bjørnhollia to the south-east via Langglupdalen.

This is a charming crossing on the route to Vardhøe, a lovely viewpoint above Høvringen. The scenery is splendid.

A hugely enjoyable plateau to run across, featuring superb views into the Rondane National Park. It's just a short distance from here to the summit of Vardhøe, a popular objective from Høvringen.

Vardhøe is a relatively easy summit to get to from Høvringen and it makes for an easy run. It's a popular route with families so consider other trail users at all times.

The double waterfalls of Storulfossen is a real highlight of any run along the Storula river. The cascades can be reached from the Spranget car park, while to the northwest is the Rondvassbu DNT cabin and Rondane's impressive mountains.

Another lovely cascade on the Storula, not far from the even more impressive Storulfossen. A riverside run here is a glorious way to spend and hour or two.
