Located on both the Finnskogleden and the Finnskogrunden, Lebiko is a great base for the trail network in Finskogen. It's owned by the Norwegian Trekking Association (DNT) and is located on a historic Finnish farmstead. The little settlement played an important role in housing Norwegian refugees during the Second World War. They'd stop here for food and rest before completing their journey across to neutral Sweden.

Lake Lomsen is just a short walk from Ritamäki and boasts the usual wilderness hut, fireplace and outdoor toilet. It features on the Finnskogleden long-distance hike on the stage between Mitandersfors and Lebiko. Don't forget your insect repellent!

Ritamäki, the last settlement in Värmland where descendants of the old Finnish settlers lived, is a marvellous place to explore. As well as the preserved smokehouse and other buildings, there's a nature reserve with rare plants and flowers. The café is a lovely place to stop, enjoy a brew and soak it all in.

Food is only available on a few days, but you can always have a picnic.
