A lovely spot for a picnic. The lake is calm, and when the sun is shining, you can take a pleasant break at the benches and tables provided.

Perched high on a steep hill, this old fortress has an amazing view of Kongsvinger and the Glomma below.

A quiet forest lake with calm waters and golden reflections in autumn. Whether you're here for a peaceful break, a picnic by the shore, or just to enjoy the stillness of the trees around you, Ellingsjøen offers a perfect dose of nature just off the trail. Early morning or sunset light makes it even more magical.

You can visit large parts of the fortress for free. Only the museum has an entrance fee. Worth a visit for the fortress and the view.

The fortress towers over the town of Kongsvinger and the river Glomma. The fortress was never besieged or conquered. Today there is a hotel in the barracks building.

This old fortress is placed on the top of a steep hill and the view over Kongsvinger and Glomma is fantstic!

Small, non-serviced DNT hut, which was previously used as a holiday and hunting hut and is now operated by the DNT. Inside there are sleeping places for about 4 people, plus places on mattresses if necessary. In the room there is a nice fireplace / stove in front of which you can warm yourself. There is also everything you need to prepare your own food (gas, dishes, cutlery, pots, etc.) and a large terrace in the sun. You can get water in the nearby lake Langtjennet 300 m northwest. However, the water quality is not very good (algae), so it is best to bring drinking water with you or fill it up along streams. In summer you can also use the canoe and fish at the lake, life jackets and paddles can be found in the hut. An overnight stay for members only costs 100 crowns (DNT key required!).
