The newly renovated Vösendorf Castle is located in the middle of the Vösendorf Castle Park. It houses a castle café, the Vösendorf municipal office, a public library, a tax and business consultant, a branch of the Raiffeisenbank, the castle museum and the bicycle museum.

The original building dates back to the 11th century. The castle was first mentioned in documents in 1175. The castle was rebuilt in the 16th century. It was destroyed in various wars, such as the first and second Turkish siege, but was always rebuilt. In 1794, Emperor Franz acquired the castle, the village and the "lordly brick kiln" in order to build the Laxenburg Franzensburg.

New cycle path next to the very strong and accident-prone Trumauer Straße, actually starts in Nix and ends in Nix - unless you drive in and out of the field paths - signs? Oh sure, none found!!!!

A great alternative to the street. Unfortunately, the cycle path currently (Feb. 2024) does not begin or end in the two towns, but rather dies in front of it without motivation.

A piece of Burgenland straight out of the most beautiful tourism advertising! After a beautiful tour in the Leithagebirge or on the Kischblütenradweg, you can end the tour comfortably in Purbach's Kellergasse. By the way, the train station in Purbach is not too far away (approx. 1km), so it is also possible to arrive and depart with your bikes by train.

The castle park - bike-free and of course only for cash - is worthwhile. Extensive paths, a great playground for children ..... and a boat rental to scare away the swans in the castle lake to your heart's content. The moated castle can also be explored. do you have some old rolls or bread with you? Then feed the "small" fish - and be amazed by the "big ones" 😉. Are you exhausted afterwards - off to the ice cream parlor 😁
