On the way from the harbor to the North Cape on Midsummer Night, an experience

Festive atmosphere everywhere Throughout Norway, the spectacular event surrounding the midnight sun is celebrated with dancing, music, games, boat trips, and bonfires until late into the night. Along the coast, residents flock to the fjords in their boats to light a fire on one of the many small islands and enjoy a cozy gathering with family and friends. No one thinks about sleeping here – the search for a nice spot begins in the afternoon, where they can spend the day enjoying themselves until late into the night. In convivial company, people enjoy typical Norwegian fish and Norwegian beer.

Small harbor Honningsvåg is the most important fishing settlement in western Finnmark

This extraordinary rock is a geological peculiarity. A rocky outcrop several meters wide in steps with a round opening on the side. The midnight sun can also be seen through it, if you are there at the right time of year.

The Children of the World Monument consists of seven large circular reliefs arranged in a semicircle. Opposite them stands a sculptural group of a mother and boy, who points toward the reliefs with his left arm. The monument was erected in 1989. The models for the seven reliefs were created by seven children of different nations who gathered here for a week. The monument is intended to represent friendship, cooperation, hope, and joy across all borders.

It is located southeast of the North Cape Hall and consists of seven large circular reliefs arranged in a semicircle. Opposite them is a sculptural group of mother and child, consisting of a female figure and a small boy who points to the reliefs with his left arm. The group was created by Eva Rybakken.

You should be there around 0:30 during the midnight sun. That's when the sun comes out from behind the North Cape. We were there on July 22nd. At the end of June the sun is higher, so it might be visible as early as 11:45. There are only a few places where you can see the sun in the arch.
