You can walk along the cliffs and then get a better view of the rock on which the globe stands and in front of which everyone has to take a picture. You can also see the actual North Cape well. This is the flat peninsula that protrudes further into the sea next to the high rock.

The North Cape is almost the northernmost point in Europe.
In the extreme north of Finnmark, North Cape is a spectacular travel destination on the Norwegian island of Magerøya. The black slate rocks rise almost 300 meters steeply out of the wave-lashed sea of ice.

The landscape on the rock plateau is rough, inhospitable and barren. Nevertheless, hardly any visitor can escape the mystical atmosphere when the fog lifts for a moment and the midnight sun lets the sculpture of the globe shine in a diffuse light.

Only 2,100 kilometers and a few groups of islands lie between the North Cape and the North Pole and for two and a half months in summer the sun does not set below the horizon. The North Cape is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Norway. Around 200,000 visitors visit the rocky plateau every year, with most arriving on a cruise ship. Even in midsummer, an icy wind often blows across the plateau and the temperature is only a few degrees above freezing.
