Built in 1940, this old wooden watchtower sits quietly above the forest at 385 m. A peaceful, slightly eerie spot where time seems to pause. Climb up for wide-open views !

Fågelåsen is the highest mountain in the area at 323 m. From the observation tower, which was built in 1999, you have a very wide view of the surrounding area as far as Norway. The path to the observation tower is very wet, so don't forget suitable footwear.

The road is for the most part pretty flat with forest blocking the view, but in this area you can get a nice view of the Øyeren lake, weather permitting.

Please leave the birds in peace in their most vulnerable period, when they are brooding eggs in spring (until May 15). do not follow the path further than the tower, and stay on the path.
