The Kuringen Bridge is a new arched bridge over the Albert Canal in Belgium, replacing two old railway bridges to increase the clearance for shipping. Built between 2019 and 2021, it now allows for a higher clearance of 9.10 meters and widens the canal to 86 meters. In addition to the new railway bridge, a wide bicycle connection was also created.

The cycle path has a view of several fields on one side and a chemical factory on the other. There are also several windmills in the area.

Quiet and beautiful surroundings

Known locally for years as the VVV Tower, it stands 18.75 meters tall. Before the current tower, there was a concrete one built in 1969. It stood for thirty years until concrete rot forced its demolition in 1999. The VVV, or Tourist Association, then built the current one (and was also responsible for the first one). Today, the tower belongs to the municipality after the VVV relinquished it. And anyone who saw it in the early days will certainly notice that the surrounding trees have grown somewhat taller since 1999. It is located by the playground behind the forest museum on the sand hill.
