The chapel on the Tiendeberg is one of eight ommegang chapels in the village, each of which refers to one of the seven sorrows of Mary; the eighth is a calvary chapel, which probably originated in the 16th century. The veneration of Mary in Westrozebeke was very strong around that time, partly based on the legend that Our Lady laid a red thread around the village in 1382, thus protecting it from the terror and destruction sown by the French. in their fight against the Ghent rebels led by Philip van Artevelde. Highest point in the nearby region, making it strategically important during the First World War. The Germans had a bunker complex here that complicated the liberation offensive in 1918. The bunker was not demolished until 1920. There was also a windmill on the Tiendenberg from 1773 (the Tiendebergmolen), until it burned down in 1898. Forest of 19.5 hectares, on the Polderbeek. The Artevelde walking route runs through this forest (and the nearby Keuneleutebos), which refers to Philip van Artevelde (one of the sons of the Ghent popular leader Jacob), who died in Westrozebeke in 1382.

The Keuneleute (for those who do not understand West Flemish: "Rabbit pleasure") is a small but beautiful forest, which is managed in such a way that it retains its 'natural' condition as best as possible. The author Willy Spillebeen (°1932), born in Westrozebeke, spent his youth in the nearby farm. This forest appears several times in his books as a background to his stories, such as in "The fox hunt, a book of the dead" (1977).
