The Myriapode is an important land art piece near Ellezelles in Walloon Picard. It is a structure 4.5 meters high and 11.6 meters long, made of woven wood. Inspired by the shape of a centipede, it fits perfectly into the forest landscape. The artwork serves as a place of rest and reflection for walkers and cyclists on the RAVeL and offers elevated seating and shelter. The artwork is part of a series of six landscape artworks installed in the Pays des Collines in June 2023. The ensemble was realized by the collective Bowerbird (Wolfgang Bregentzer & Bram Vanhoff) in collaboration with JNC International, as part of European INTERREG projects.

Nice climb that can be divided into three parts: a steeper beginning, an easier middle section and steeper again towards the end.

This dirt road connects Vianebaan and Werfstraat. After heavy or prolonged rainfall, it becomes very muddy, and some sections can be flooded. The proximity of the Mark River contributes to this.

I was lucky enough to drive through it after a few days of rain. In autumn, the clay soil is very slippery. But once you've made it through, it's all the more exhilarating 😅. This was definitely the toughest part of the whole route. The wall through Geeraardsbergen was easy by comparison. 🫣😂

The artwork "The Kidnapping of Europa" was installed on Congo Mountain in Vollezele in the summer of 2023. The artist, Koenraad Tinel, has lived in Vollezele for over 25 years and is an honorary citizen of Galmaarden. It is one of his largest artworks, 8 meters long and 9 meters tall. It weighs 2.5 tons and is made of bronze. It depicts Princess Europa sitting on a swimming bull. It is an artwork of hope. Koenraad Tinel continues to believe that a united Europe remains the best guarantee for peace and brotherhood. (VRTnws)

A stretch of about 1100 meters takes you to the summit of the Oudenberg, at an altitude of 110 meters. From here, you have a magnificent view of the region and the famous chapel.
