Forest management at Maldegemveld is aimed at the conservation and sustainable development of this special nature reserve, located in the province of East Flanders. Maldegemveld is a vast forest area that has an important ecological value, with a varied landscape of forests, heathland and marshy areas. Forest management here focuses on preserving biodiversity, restoring natural habitats and promoting the health of the ecosystem.

The Keigatbos is an atmospheric and varied nature reserve, where deciduous trees, open fields and winding paths alternate. This forest in the Flemish Ardennes offers numerous hiking trails along old pollard willows and rustic wooden fences, with here and there an open space full of wild flowers.

In 1762, Abbot De Stoop had a small country house and chapel built on the 'eilandje' or 'bouwke'. It serves as a residence for the forest supervisor and as a country retreat for the monks. The country house no longer exists, but the moat that surrounds the 'island' is still there. All information can be found on the posted information boards.
