8월 11, 2025, Poggio Stefano
I recommend avoiding the trail leading to Poggio Stefano to avoid the risk of being reported. The trail lies within a protected area, and accessing it without authorization from the National Park is considered a criminal offense under the Presidential Decree of May 17, 1996. The same applies to anyone hiking the trail to Cala Coticcio without an authorized guide.

The way back according to Komoot goes right through the nature reserve, which is forbidden according to the signs.

The bay was a dream, the bike path there was breakneck! We had to push and carry the bike more than we could ride, and definitely NO ONE has ever visited the three adjacent bays by bike (except us 😂😂). Please don't try this.

Beautiful hiking trails to the dream bays on the northern tip of Caprera. When it has rained heavily, however, some of these become streams.

Wonderful view of the island landscape. The hiking trail is well-developed and there are numerous well-signposted paths leading off from it, although some of them become streams when it rains.

10월 19, 2024, Wild Goats of Caprera
Mountain goats can be admired all over Caprera, individually and in groups. They are obviously used to people and can be easily observed up close. We saw groups on rocks in particular in the very north. Next to the road we saw goats standing on rocks, grazing on the leaves of the bushes from above. And in the forest we saw two rams fighting for territory with their antlers cracking.

Above the bay you have a wonderful view of it with the mountains of Corsica in the background.

There are rocks like sculptures everywhere. Animals, figures and lots of dragon egg shells.

One of the most beautiful bays I know, but you have to walk along rocky paths to get there. Coming from Cala Caprarese, you first discover a dream beach with light water in the green interior of the island, which seems to be cut off from the sea. Coming through bushes, you suddenly find yourself on the beach, which seems almost artificial in its beauty. It is also pleasantly secluded.

Cala Serena is worth a hike. A rocky path with beautiful views leads from Cala Garibaldi to the bay. Thanks to the somewhat difficult access, the bay is only sparsely visited. Particularly striking is the wetland with a lake and lush vegetation directly behind the beach. The bay is extremely beautiful for swimming: no rocks, but a wonderful fine sandy bottom with incredibly clear water that shines turquoise in the sun. Small silver fish with a distinctive black spot on the base of their tails populate the underwater world. The bay is shallow and deeply indented, making it ideal for children.

Water formed this stone. You must be sure-footed.

Between the small, lonely beach and the abandoned house in the middle of the hiking trail, the route is unfortunately difficult and dangerous. Even if you follow the markings, you still have to do some climbing right on the cliffs. It's more of a climbing tour than a hike. Erosion or something similar may be to blame. In addition, large parts of the path are overgrown with thorny plants. At least in our opinion, it's currently only for very experienced hikers who are aware of the risk. We wouldn't do the route again because of the danger. Up to the points mentioned, it's great one-way with great views and some lonely beaches.
