The picturesque mountain lake lies at an altitude of 2,374 meters surrounded by a dramatic panorama of the Dolomites. The clear water shimmers greenish, as the bottom of the lake is overgrown with numerous algae.
The Fedaia pass, at an altitude of 2,057 metres, connects Canazei, Trentino-Alto Adige, to Caprile, Veneto. It is located at the base of the Marmolada and at the top there is an artificial lake, the homonymous Fedaia.
