I have to review my tip from August 2018, as the manager has changed since 20 June 2021. Now it's managed by a team of guys with no experience of refugees. At the momento they are without cook, so the food is not made by them, it's bought precooked. Few dishes served: gnocchi, spätzle, hind with polenta. Sometimes a soup. The service is slow and listless. I had to ask 3 times to have some bread together with the plate of cheese I ordered. The place is more for Aperitives then a mountain hut. The list of Gin's is impressive. Loud music and floodlight completes the picture. But the panorama hasn't changed, you still have an incredible view of the all the south of the Garda lake. So, I suggest to take some pictures and go further to Rif. Telegrafo where the cook Luca serves you amazing plates! :)

A trail on the western slope of Punta Sascaga leads directly to the Refugio Barana al telegrafo. The trail is sure-footed and partially equipped with a steel cable for safety.

The mountain also owes its name to the favorable location on the edge of the Alps: Telégrafo. The Napoleonic troops set up an observation post on the summit and kept in touch via optical signals - two centuries before the invention of the cell phone. That is used today - but quite peacefully: "Carissimi, sono sulla cima!"
