Terricciola is a historic village with medieval origins and underground tunnels that reflect its Etruscan past. The name "Terricciola" derives from its defense towers and its historical dispute between Pisa and Florence. The area presents archaeological evidence of the Etruscan presence, with urns and underground tombs dating back to the 3rd century BC. Terricciola is known as the "City of Wine" for its excellent wine production, attracting winemakers from all over the world. It is home to cultural attractions such as the 11th-century church and an important chapel with notable works of art.

Small village in the municipality of Terricciola, famous for being the place where Pier Capponi was killed in 1496, who was committed to leading the army of Florence in taming the outbreaks of revolt fueled by the Pisans after the French troops left Tuscany. From the street dedicated to the Florentine leader and politician you can admire one of the bell towers designed in the second half of the 19th century by the Pontederese architect Luigi Bellincioni.

This little paved square offers fantastic views of the surrounding Tuscan countryside. Well worth a stop and a selfie.
