The Maremma Thirsty Fountain is located in Cecina in Piazza Guerrazzi. Created by the symbolist artist Emidio Vignali in 1919 on a pre-existing public source and restored in 2010, this fountain created on the occasion of the construction of the new aqueduct, wanted to celebrate the importance of water in a region that is poor in it. Square in shape and Baroque inspired, it shows two nude marble statues: the first represents Hercules dominating the bronze jellyfish, symbolizing the work that dominates the brute forces of nature. The second, at his feet, is a woman who represents Cecina, who quenches her thirst thanks to the spring resulting from the hero's efforts.

There is a small bar here where locals meet for an espresso or a beer, or simply to read the newspaper.

Small town with an eye for cyclists, little transit roads with beautiful climbs to get there. Above all, the Poggetto climb from the SP18 going up towards the town is about 3.4 km long with a difference in altitude of 224 meters and an average gradient of 6.7% with double-digit peaks.
