A Pisan municipality of about 5,500 inhabitants, Buti is located east of the peak of Monte Pisano and to the north borders with Capannori and the province of Lucca. It seems that the name derives from the late Latin "bucita", or "ox pasture". Of particular interest here, in addition to the historic center, is the Villa Medicea.

Il sorbo is a dirt path inside the provincial nature reserve of Monte Serra di Sotto, between Pisa and Lucca. Here you can find numerous trails, wide and without difficulties, ideal for mountain bike excursions or family walks.

The clock tower was built in the twelfth century. Of square construction, it has a characteristic clock face, and inside hang some original 15th century bells. Being therefore a bell tower (like the Tower of Pisa) it does not fall into the category of castles or fortifications, and is therefore off topic. The photo is still nice.

Monte Serra reachable from 3 sides, Pieve di Compito, Calci and Buti in order according to the difficulty. On clear winter and some summer days you can see as far as Corsica.

Monte Serra da Calci starts immediately strong in the first 3 km with a 15% stretch at the first bend, then climbs on a regular one up to 7 km where the hardest stretch is present, about 1 km at an average 10%
