San Giuliano Park is Mestre's green lung and one of Europe's largest urban parks, born from a massive environmental reclamation and redevelopment project completed in the early 2000s. Directly overlooking the lagoon, it offers unparalleled views of the Venice skyline, accessible via its numerous cycle and pedestrian paths that wind through manicured lawns and wooded areas. In addition to being a haven for athletes and families thanks to its modern running and recreational facilities, the park is a cultural and logistical hub, known for hosting major events and internationally renowned concerts. Its strategic location, on the border between the mainland and the lagoon, makes it the ideal place for those seeking a nature escape without leaving the city's amenities.

Short straight asphalted stretch connecting the Taglio cycle/pedestrian path to the Via Porara overpass.

Alternative to avoid the railway underpass: From here, you can also take the bridge over the railway – it's only a short stretch on the road, but it was the better option for me.

It's not a pleasant route to take here. We chose the return route through San Giuliiano Park. We could either skip the curve to the city center or cycle parallel to this route along the river/canal, over the bicycle bridge, and then the car bridge, where there's less traffic. This way, we don't have to carry the bike up the underpass, as there was no elevator in sight.

Palladio's work, where one can note the perfect balance and harmony between the architecture and the surrounding landscape. In 1500, the site where the building stands belonged to the Valier family, while the management of the land had been entrusted by the owners to the procurators of San Marco. The procurators subsequently sold the plots of land to Federico Foscari, who died in 1527, leaving his assets to his sons Alvise, Giacomo, and Ferigo. The villa was commissioned by Nicolò and Alvise Foscari in 1555, as Giorgio Vasari also recalls in "The Lives of the Most Excellent Painters, Sculptors, and Architects," Florence 1568. Nicolò died before seeing it completed. An inscription in his memory was placed on the façade, under the tympanum: "Nicolaus et aloysius Foscari fratres Federici Filii." By the mid-17th century, the area surrounding the villa became a veritable hub, and by the 18th century, barchesse (outbuildings), stables, inns, and small houses were being built in the area. https://www.comune.mira.ve.it/vivere-il-comune/luoghi/villa-foscari-detta-la-malcontenta/

It is now open and passable, even if work continues around the station: a bit of confusion at the exit, from the underpass in front of the Vega because the path is not well marked and gets confused with the parking lots: but keeping to the left, you first meet the road to Venice and then the bridge.
