Müdesheim is a municipality in the town of Arnstein in the Lower Franconian Main-Spessart district of Bavaria. The parish village is located one kilometer west of Reuchelheim in the Wern Valley on Federal Highway 26. Müdesheim was formerly a wine-growing village with extensive vineyards. However, in the 19th century, winemaking had to be abandoned due to disease. Since the 2000s, however, the town has been returning to this tradition. Arnstein lies on the Wern River, which bisects the Main Triangle, approximately 20 kilometers from Schweinfurt and 25 kilometers from Würzburg. The southern parts of the municipality lie within the Gramschatz Forest. Arnstein enjoys a very central geographical location. The town is 9 kilometers west of the Schweinfurt/Werneck motorway junction (via the B 26a). According to the Bavarian Surveying Authority, the geographical center of Lower Franconia lies in the Arnstein district of Büchold.
