Located at 2,450 m above sea level, on a spectacular natural balcony overlooking the upper Valmalenco, with a direct view of Monte Disgrazia, the Italian-Swiss ridge, and many high peaks of the Rhaetian Alps. Reaching the refuge is a hike of medium difficulty: from the village of Chiareggio, it takes about 2.5 hours to climb (850 m of elevation gain), while from San Giuseppe it is slightly longer but with gentler gradients. The trail is well marked and offers increasingly expansive views as you ascend. Excellent cuisine featuring typical Valtellina dishes.

Diavolezza cable cars, Pontresina The Diavolezza (Romansh: devil) is a pass and ski area in the municipality of Pontresina. It has a height of 2958 m above sea level and is located southeast of Munt Pers (3206 m above sea level) in the Bernina Alps. The mountain is accessible all year round by a cable car from the Upper Engadine Val Bernina. From the Corvatsch mountain station at 3,303 m (Top of Engadin) you have a rare, good panoramic view of the mountains, provided you have good visibility. You can see more of this in the photos. The Piz Corvatsch summit is a little further south. Take good clothing with you, it can be cold to icy and windy. Very good restaurant.
