The chapel and cemetery belong to the Vicelin Church in Neumünster. Vicelin played a significant role there: in 1127, he founded the "Novum Monasterium" (New Münster) monastery in Neumünster and from there carried out missionary work in Holstein and Wagria.

“Caution: Ducks!” Sign warns of ducks crossing near the riverbank. Smiling is permitted, but braking is recommended. These signs are not legally binding, like the wildlife crossing sign (No. 142), but they do increase the awareness of road users.

In the middle of the heath stands a large oak tree. Next to it is a bench where you can sit and relax. From here, you can enjoy a wonderful view of the heath.

Together with the Kuhlen Moor and parts of the Trentmoor, the area is part of the European Natura 2000 conservation network. Raised moor, wet grassland, and sandy heathland meet on approximately 495 hectares; a habitat for rare amphibians, reptiles, and birds. A quiet hotspot for nature lovers – protected and valuable.

The shaping power of glacial meltwater from the area of present-day Lake Plön shaped the landscape between Rickling and Daldorf. The water flowing westward deposited sand and carved out the "Trappenkamp Sander." This allows heather to grow here. Tip: The heather blooms from August 8th to September 9th.

This trail leads through the richly structured wetland of the Kiebitzholmermoor, formed by glacial meltwater that once deposited sand and gravel between Rickling and Daldorf. Today, this is where the watershed between the North Sea and the Baltic Sea runs: the Brandsau flows to the Baltic Sea, and the Rothenmühlenau flows via the Stör to the North Sea. This trail is shared with the Galloways.
