Easy to moderately difficult route, perfect for warm days as there's plenty of shade. There's also a superbly maintained outdoor pool for cooling off, as well as the absolutely charming Café Goldmarie with delicious cappuccino and cake. Highly recommended as a reward after a lap around the lake :)

The Great Segeberg Lake, with an area of 1.726 km², offers a high level of recreational value. It is approximately an eight-minute walk from the city center. Visitors will find a sundeck with revolving loungers on the lake promenade, a Kneipp pool serving as a floating dock, an open-air forest grandstand, and a play area on the southern shore. Furthermore, the Great Segeberg Lake also has an outdoor pool and pedal boat and rowboat rentals. The popular 7.5 km loop around the lake takes approximately 90 minutes. Jan-Hendrik Stahlberg, Britta Fischer, and their team are kicking off the winter season. They are offering a personalized breakfast in addition to the existing menu of lunch, savory snacks, and coffee and cake during opening hours from Thursday to Sunday, starting at 9:30 a.m. "To ensure as many guests as possible can enjoy breakfast, we have two seating times," says Jan-Hendrik Stahlberg. The Goldmarie am See is open until 5 p.m. on these days during the winter season and invites you to enjoy a relaxing time in the café. Events outside of opening hours are also possible upon request for corporate events or groups. Anyone interested in supporting the Goldmarie am See service team part-time for 20 hours or more is also welcome to apply.
