The Monument to Jonathan Seagull, located along the southern pier of San Benedetto del Tronto, is a work by sculptor Mario Lupo dedicated to the character created by Richard Bach. The fish market of San Benedetto del Tronto is one of the largest in Italy. Even today, every morning, generally at 4 am, the fresh fish, just arrived from the fishing boats that work at night, becomes the protagonist of a real downward auction that determines its prices. In the Children of the World square, which overlooks the Town Hall, or rather on a wall of the Town Hall, a sculpture by Ugo Nespolo entitled “The Children of War” catches your attention. A bronze disc that depicts with many colors, a boy and a girl. Behind them, a rising sun. The work is the reproduction of a silver medal that Ugo Nespolo designed for Luciano Pavarotti for ''Pavarotti & friends'' in 1999.
