10km straight path. Mostly paved trail through the forest, starting at KIT and ending at the castle gardens. The asphalt is uneven in the KIT area, with roots, etc. Further along, it's well paved. Easily rideable on a gravel bike.

I wanted to race an ICE train today, like I sometimes do with ships on the Rhine. It went wrong...

The route winds its way without a central reservation through partially hidden forest sections. When there's little traffic, it's a pleasure to hear the birds and your bike. When there's heavy traffic, it's a bit of a challenge. I like the route best early in the morning.

The road surface has been repaired. This route is now highly recommended for road bikes.

The well-preserved castle is an essential part of the historic old town, perched on a hill. And we felt the same way as @Scout Jens: the view from below of the castle and old town had a certain promise and was the most beautiful view.

The most striking building on the market square is the pyramid. It is a monument to the town's founder, Margrave Karl-Wilhelm, and protects his grave. It was initially built from wood, then in 1823 from stone, exactly on the spot where the burial place of the original Concordia Church (demolished in 1807) was located. The surviving crypt dates back to the 18th century.
