This ancient Benedictine Abbey is located in the countryside a few hundred meters from the parish church of Vidor, right at the foot of the very first hills along the Piave River. The fury of the Great War did not spare even this Benedictine abbey, founded in 1107 to house the relics of Saint Bona, brought by Giovanni Vidor. All the buildings have been restored, but some exterior walls still show numerous signs of artillery fire.

Immediately above Vidor, it actually marks the beginning of the Prosecco Trail. A place of historical importance, the traces of the First World War can still be felt.

The Cypress Path connects Col del Castello, where the Oratorio Sacrario dell'Addolorata Temple stands, to Col Carpenon starting from the place where the memorial stone dedicated to Major Ippolito Banfi was positioned, on the north side of the promontory. The cypresses stand on the front line of the Battle of Vidor on 10 November 1917 and remember the sacrifice of 300 Alpine soldiers and 15 of their officers.

The Oratorio Sacrario dell'Addolorata Temple stands on the hill that housed the ancient medieval castle of the lords of Vidor, destroyed in 1510 during the war of the League of Cambrai. It was built in 1925 based on a design by the Venetian architect Brenno del Giudice, who was able to exploit the natural slope of the hill by creating a crypt, adding a forepart and creating a Baroque Oratory above these. The area can be reached via a path, which starts from the center of Vidor, flanked by a Via Crucis. The current complex, equipped with two small bell towers, is composed of the Temple of the Blessed Virgin of Sorrows, preceded by a portico and a large terrace. On the facade, inside the highest tower, you can admire the statue of the Winged Victory, the work of the Venetian sculptor Martinuzzi. In the basement there is the ossuary where the remains of 70 soldiers, from Vidor and elsewhere, who fell during the two wars were buried. In the lower part a small museum contains war artefacts and photographic reproductions. During the 70s, in the external part, some cannons used during the 15-18 were placed.

Vidor (Vidor in Veneto) is an Italian municipality of 3,662 inhabitants[2] in the province of Treviso in Veneto. It is located 7 km from Valdobbiadene, 35 km from the capital Treviso and about 70 km from Venice. It borders to the north with the municipal territories of Valdobbiadene and Farra di Soligo, to the east with Moriago della Battaglia, to the south with Pederobba and Crocetta del Montello. The municipality falls within the Quartier del Piave. The hilly part of the municipal territory is part of the UNESCO Heritage site "Colline del Prosecco di Conegliano e Valdobbiadene".
