The first oratory is from the twelfth century, the current building, in neoclassical style, is from the nineteenth century. The Sanctuary (not very large) is very beautiful and welcoming.

The Bassano refuge is located on the top of Monte Grappa, at 1,750 meters above sea level, and is the only refreshment point near the Sacrario. The structure offers a panoramic view that ranges from the Veneto plain to the Dolomites and offers typical dishes of Venetian cuisine, such as pappardelle with wild boar and gnocchi with mountain cheeses. The refuge is a resting place for hikers and cyclists, and is open all year round, with closures on Mondays and Tuesdays during the winter. Monte Grappa is known for its historical and natural importance. An ideal destination for mountain and history lovers, it offers a 360-degree view and numerous trails, as well as being a point of reference for the memory of the world wars. The summit is accessible via trails, asphalt roads and cycle paths.

If you cycle up Monte Grappa, you should not miss a visit to the "Ossarium", a monumental memorial to the soldiers who died here in the senseless trench warfare during the First World War. The road up Monte Grappa ends at a large car park at Rifugio Bassano. From here, it is only a long flight of stairs to the Ossarium and then you can admire the extensive Ossarium and enjoy the overwhelming view. On my first visit, I pushed my racing bike up the stairs because I didn't have a lock with me. On my second visit with my friend, we locked the bikes in the car park and climbed up.

The Bassano Refuge, a few steps from the Military Memorial, was built in 1896 by the Italian Alpine Club (Bassano section) as a "hut" to make it easier for members who went there on excursions to stop. During the Second World War the refuge was burned down. It was later reopened in 1949 after being restructured, enlarged and equipped with a large parking lot. Today the refuge is equipped with a restaurant seating around 250 with a panoramic view of the Venetian plain, a bar and a room for packed lunches. Managed by the Coletto family since 2002, it is open all year round and closes on Tuesdays from November to April.

It is a truly grandiose military fortification work, built in 10 months, starting in November 1917. It was designed by Col. del Genio Nicola Gavotti to strengthen the defense of the Grappa massif. It has a tunnel development of about 5 Km., consists of a main arm of m. 1,500, from which numerous secondary branches radiate towards the artillery and machine-gun emplacements, observers and outlets for counter-offensive sorties

The Sanctuary of the Beata Vergine del Covolo is a religious building in Palladian style on the slopes of Monte Grappa, in the Crespano area. According to tradition, it has its origins in the 12th century, when the Madonna appeared to a deaf and dumb shepherdess who, alone grazing with her sheep, had taken refuge in a cave during a storm ("covolo" in local dialect). The Virgin spoke to her and told her to go to Crespano to tell everyone that she wanted a chapel in that place. The girl acquired the voice and hearing to do as she was ordered. In reality the sanctuary could have much more ancient origins, even preceding the Christian era if not Paleo-Venetian. The place, in fact, was particularly suitable for the cult of the divinities of the Earth thanks to the presence of a forest, the source of the Tre Busi and a cave called "delle Guane", whose name refers to legendary creatures of local folklore. The same den (now partly demolished and walled up to expand the church) may have favored human attendance as a place of shelter. The first chapel dates back to 1300. The small church underwent expansions in 1541 and 1605, but took on its current form between 1804 and 1809 based on a design by the famous Antonio Canova. Canova preserved the ancient church set in the rock by building an elegant rotunda at midday with an atrium supported by eight Ionic-style columns. In 1844 the current road was built thanks to the contribution of numerous volunteers from towns between the Brenta and the Piave. On Good Friday of the following year a boulder broke away from the mountain and fell on the Sanctuary, destroying the sacristy and presbytery. It was considered miraculous that the statue of the Madonna, still displayed near the main altar, was recovered intact at the bottom of the valley. Along the three kilometers that go up from Crespano towards Covolo, the 15 capitals of the Mysteries of the Rosary were built in 1943. On the triangular pediment of the facade there is a fresco depicting the apparition of the Virgin to the shepherdess. At the beginning of the twentieth century the sanctuary underwent some important interventions aimed mainly at internal ornaments. The latest restorations were in 1987 and 2012.
