The sinkhole with the remains of a settlement is a real highlight, but it's not located at this spot, but 15 minutes further up. This is where the rock crevice is located, another highlight of the Tiscali hiking trail.

The climb up to this point on a wide gravel path is easy and mostly shady, and the view over the seemingly untouched valley from this spot is simply fantastic.

If you come here in the east of the island, you should definitely book the boat tour where there are only 12 people on board. €83, but it's worth it. You can see dream beaches like Cala Mariolu, and at Cala Luna we were actually the first to arrive at the beach.

Crossing the Tiscali crest from east to west, the views change slightly but always remain breathtaking. The view over the Lainattu valley is splendid. This is a great spot to take a break while exploring the nuragic village.

The sinkhole of Tiscali and its Nuragic village are located in an enchanting corner of Barbagia, set in an enormous sinkhole. This settlement, perhaps the last refuge of the late Nuragic people against the Roman advance, was discovered at the beginning of the 20th century and is studied to include the civitates Barbariae of the island in the Republican era.

Tiscali is a panoramic point that introduces the prehistoric Nuragic settlement in the Sa Curtigia cave. The karst formation is spectacular. In pre-Christian times, people inhabited this partially covered crater. From the outside, the view is magnificent.

Cala Luna is an enchanting bay and an estuary very frequented by summer maritime traffic. It is absolutely worth a visit, as it represents a true pearl of the Mediterranean with its light sand, turquoise water, numerous small caves and almost white rocks. It can be reached either on foot or by boat. The beauty of this bay is beyond compare. Here you can find shelter in the shade of one of the numerous caves or immerse yourself in the crystal clear waters, a true treasure of Sardinia. At the end of the bay, an oasis invites you to stop for a snack in the kiosk or for a picnic. Also watch out for bold goats grazing on the steep slopes! If the walk back seems too challenging, you can always take a boat back to Cala Gonone or Cala Fuili.

On the path between Cala Gonone and Cala Luna there are many caves that can only be reached on foot. The Oddoana cave is one of these. The atmosphere with the Mediterranean scrub and the cave is very suggestive. The cave is not very large and the path to reach its entrance is a bit steep. Alternatively, you can take a small detour that goes around the cave.

The path between Cala Fuili and Cala Luna enters the Mediterranean scrub, offering beautiful views of both the sea and the hinterland. The trail is quite rocky in some places but nothing too difficult.

The caves are right next to Cala Luna and look very impressive. However, you are only alone here in winter.

Anyone who has always wanted to hike in a dry riverbed should come here. But be careful: it is more difficult than you think, because you often have to wade through sand, there is no real "path" (sparse markings in the bushes). It is breathtakingly beautiful, the surrounding rock walls are up to 200m high!

The grotto is not particularly beautiful. The descent towards Cala Luna is quite challenging. On the way back we took the other route.
