Prodo Castle dominates the small village of the same name, a hamlet of Orvieto (TR). Built in 1222 by the Prodenzani family as a trapezoidal defensive stronghold with tuff walls, square and round towers, arrow slits, and a fortified gate, it was strengthened between the 13th and 15th centuries to control the Umbrian valleys. Garibaldi's refuge in 1849, it is now privately owned. Although the interior cannot be visited, the exterior offers panoramic views of the Fosso Campione, making it ideal for excursions near the Forello Gorges.

Osa is a small hamlet of Orvieto (TR, Umbria), located at 310 m above sea level. It has only four residents, mostly in pre-1919 buildings. It is known for its 19th-century village dominated by Palazzo Netti, built by Professor Smerrini of Florence and inhabited by engineer Aldobrando Netti (died 1925), a pioneer of electricity in Umbria with works such as the Sugano power plant and the lighting of the Mancinelli Theatre, characterised by monochrome frescoes on scientific virtues (Work, Science, Water, Earth, Fire, Energy). Netti is a candidate for the FAI (Italian National Trust) Places of the Heart.

The bridge connects Orvieto Scalo to the Rupe trail, where you can take a circular walk around the slopes of the cliff where Orvieto's historic center is located. The bridge is also beautifully lit at night.

The medieval quarter of Orvieto, located on the western slope of the cliff, represents the oldest and most original part of the city. Characterized by narrow streets, tuff houses, and picturesque views, it includes the historic Via della Cava, an ancient access route to the city, with the Porta Maggiore and the remains of Etruscan walls. Here are also the Pozzo della Cava, the small church of the Madonna della Cava, and two imposing "fortress-churches": San Giovenale and San Giovanni Evangelista, built in strategic positions to control the territory. Panoramic routes such as the one along Ripa Medici or between the two churches offer evocative views of the medieval urban settlement.
