beautiful and easy tour, even gravel easily. But avoid periods with tall grass...

Beautiful trail but be careful if you see a flock because there are Maremma shepherds that sometimes chase you.

9월 23, 2024, Montefollonico Medieval Village
Montefollonico is a small medieval village located in Tuscany, between the hills of Val d'Orcia and Val di Chiana. Surrounded by well-preserved walls, the village offers an authentic and quiet atmosphere, far from mass tourism. The narrow streets, stone houses and panoramic views of the vineyards and olive groves make Montefollonico an ideal place for those seeking relaxation and natural beauty. Do not miss the Church of San Leonardo, an example of Romanesque architecture, and the excellent local culinary traditions.

beautiful route, shame about the lack of shade, which goes from Arezzo to Orvieto completely immersed in the fields

The famous white roads of Tuscany, great slopes and a lot of satisfaction. Gravel makes both ascents and descents even more difficult. However, walking these roads calmly and appreciating the landscape is really exciting.

Beautiful, tough, stupendous panoramas, as much as the effort to climb.

12월 16, 2022, Montefollonico Medieval Village
Charming village perched on a hill, accessible after a passage in the forest. Somewhat forgotten on the classic tourist routes, its origins date back to around the year 1000 and it reached its peak in the 12th and 12th centuries as a castle and border post of the Republic of Siena. Montefollonico has retained the atmosphere of a typical Tuscan village in which the changing seasons mark the rhythm of the countryside. The old walls contain small jewels of "minor" architecture. High place for the production of Vin Santo, this famous Tuscan liqueur in which you can dip your cantuccini. So much so that a festival dedicated to the famous Santo Vino takes place there in December, supposed to cure almost all ailments...

It’s a tough 11-12KM, with various pitches coming hard at 17-19%. But you get ample recovery time before the next punch. A beautiful gravel section, perhaps one of the best in the world. And remember, the best cyclists on the planet do this stretch in 20 minutes. Vamos! 🤌🏽💪🏽

4월 24, 2022, Crete Senesi Scenic Route
I have been touring Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio by bike for a good 10 years, covering a total of around 8000 km. I can only agree that the road between Arbia and Asciano is a very beautiful route. Unfortunately, it has to be said that there is a lot of traffic on this section of road. If you want to experience the Crete Senesi in a quiet, comfortable and scenic way, you should avoid side routes and the famous gravel roads (strade bianche) and orient yourself more in the direction of Pienza, Montalcino or the Val d'Orcia. I myself have completed a good 15 tours in the Crete Senesi area, and planned another 30 in the Komoot!

Not a meter flat and the advantage of 20% is that 8% does not hurt :-)

𝗔𝗦𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗡𝗢, 𝗚𝗜𝗥𝗢 𝗔𝗗 𝗔𝗡𝗘𝗟𝗟𝗢 𝗡𝗘𝗟𝗟𝗘 𝗖𝗥𝗘𝗧𝗘 𝗦𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗜 (𝗦𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗔) Lonely streets and ancient villages, churches and castles, fields and large spaces: an evocative spectacle. A postcard of this land made of clay that diffuses an unmistakable light halfway between gray and blue. The Crete Senesi are a large expanse of clay, modeled in hills in an area that extends south-east of Siena, between Chianti and Val d’Orcia. Surely among the most evocative landscapes of Tuscany. Asciano is the main center of the Crete Senesi. Medieval charm and a remarkable historical heritage. The Accona Desert extends around Asciano, an area which due to its characteristics has become the symbol of the Crete Senesi. #settepontiroadbiker #setteponti #albertosordi #asciano #cretesenesi #castelnuovoberardenga #rapolanoterme
