San Quirico is located on a small rise and has preserved its 12th century ramparts and monumental gates. Late in the Middle Ages the place gained importance thanks to the Via Francigena that ran through the Orcia valley and reached the city. San Quirco was Sigeric's 12th stop.

Next to the chapel, which is not very special inside, is a restaurant that is being expanded. There you have a wonderful view with small delicacies. However, you have to take a little walk. There are parking facilities to the east of the chapel, which can be reached from Pienza.

I actually liked Pienza better than Montepulciano. But of course that's a matter of taste. Climbing the tower via the steep stairs or ladder is worth it because of the great view. At the end of the town towards Monticchiello there is a small shop on the left, alimentari, which sells delicacies, among other things. Wines from the region are available at reasonable prices. Closed on weekdays between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
