Sector 7 from the famous Strade Bianche race, officially run from Monteroni d'Arbia in the southwest where the end is especially steep uphill, but great for cycling in both directions. Just a little nicer on the gravel bike than on the racing bike.

I have been touring Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio by bike for a good 10 years, covering a total of around 8000 km. I can only agree that the road between Arbia and Asciano is a very beautiful route. Unfortunately, it has to be said that there is a lot of traffic on this section of road. If you want to experience the Crete Senesi in a quiet, comfortable and scenic way, you should avoid side routes and the famous gravel roads (strade bianche) and orient yourself more in the direction of Pienza, Montalcino or the Val d'Orcia. I myself have completed a good 15 tours in the Crete Senesi area, and planned another 30 in the Komoot!

Must do! This 11 km long section of the Strade Bianche is a brutal gravel section that you should definitely ride if you are in the area. The amazing views will make you quickly forget the tough climbs that you will definitely encounter along the way. Terribly enjoyable!
