Unfortunately, the tower is no longer free. But it only costs €1. Definitely worth seeing. Beach absolutely beautiful and varied.

Between the 16th and 17th centuries, three watch and defense towers were built in Arbatax to protect the area from pirate raids. The Tower of San Gemiliano, built in 1587, is one of these. It was originally known as "Taratasciar" in Arabic, which means thirteenth tower. In the 17th century it was called Torre di Zacurru and only in 1767 did it acquire its current name. It is possible to climb two ladders to reach the top of the tower and enjoy the view of the gulf. The walk up to the tower is short and easy.

The tower is well preserved and inside features a detailed history of both the tower itself and the surrounding area, with numerous historic photos. Also, admission is free. Nearby there is also a small pine forest, a long and wide beach with fine sand and an intense blue sea. The views are spectacular!

Nice short tour to the Badegumpen "Is Piscinas". The path can also be covered with smaller children. The bathing pools are beautifully situated, but overall they are a bit small. Swimming is not really possible. There are several smaller pools. But ideal for smaller children. If you are there alone or with just a few people, it can be endured there well. But when there is a large crowd, I don't think it's fun anymore.
