To reach this point on a snowy path, it is best to have snowshoes or, if the snow is compact, crampons (I went up with crampons).

Alpette is a small, quiet village. Surrounded by forests and pastures, it lies at the gateway to the Gran Paradiso National Park. It houses an astronomy school with a permanent exhibition.

A sign indicates the arrival of the rocks, at the crossroads with the paths that arrive from Cuorgnè and Canischio. I believe that you can climb to the top of the rocks that you see in front, having seen the red and white notches marked, but I do not know the degree of difficulty

A pass that is located at the intersection of several paths. You can climb to the top of the Mares peak, or reach the chapel-refuge of San Bernardo di Mares, you can descend towards Alpette or reach the Rocche di San Martino

Very beautiful panorama at the top, satisfying view, but the climb to get there.... very tough, average gradient above 10%, peaks above 15%, on a path rather damaged by the rains of recent months. Grooves, exposed rocks and sand... having my foot on the ground in many sections was inevitable for me, and starting up on those slopes isn't always easy. I climbed with a gravel bike but it's not a problem with the vehicle, tires or gears... if you like hiking with a bike or cycle mountaineering then it's ok. Otherwise 2 hours on foot and you'll get there anyway
