On the road of the Pylons

The Church of Santa Apollonia is a small church from the early 18th century, now abandoned and vandalized, reachable with a slight deviation from the path that leads to the Sanctuary of Belmonte

Sanctuary located on the top of the Sacred Mount of Belmonte, a devotional complex composed of 13 chapels of the Via Crucis that surround the sanctuary. From the Sanctuary you can admire an excellent panorama of the Piedmont plain

Inserted since 2003 in the UNESCO World Heritage List, the Sacro Monte di Belmonte is one of the most important religious centers in the province. With its sanctuary and the chapels of the Via Crucis, it is located on a hill that stands alone in the territory of the municipality of Valperga, at an altitude of 727 meters, covered by thick vegetation.
