Wonderful ascent to the laghi, there are a few meters of altitude :-) the scent of the rising steam of the stone pine early in the morning is incredible; like inhaling through an inhaler. Unfortunately the Alpe and the lift station were closed - so no reward and no snack. Good footwear is of course required, as the path sometimes leads over scree slopes.

The lakes actually visible today are twelve or eleven, depending on the season, and are: the Black Lake, the White Lake, the Drajo Lake, the Lake of Man, the Twin Lakes, the First Lake, the Long Lake, the Lake Ramella (also called Lago dei Cannoni), the Green Lakes and the Lake of the Walnut. The latter collects water only during the thaw and is therefore not visible throughout the year. The thirteenth body of water is instead the Lago della Carota, no longer visible as it is now completely underground. It is possible to go up on the plateau with the chair lift, otherwise go up on foot. From the plateau you can then climb many peaks with breathtaking landscapes.

The place name Prali is derived from the dialect word Pral (meadows). Economically, the valley is dominated by agriculture. There are also several talc mines (museum) and a winter sports area (starting point of several hikes and mountain climbs). The military buildings "Ricoveri Peruccetti" are from the late 1800s and early 1900s. At 2586m above sea level is the lake Ramella better known as "Lago dei Cannoni". The name derives from four canon positions that have been near the lake since 1905. Two of these cannons (the only one in the Western Alps) are still in positions. A gun carriage can be recognized in the lake.
