Pure nature, away from street noise

And suddenly there's only sky, water, and silence. The Havel River passes beneath you, unperturbed, like a thought that can't be stopped. To the left, the grass near the riverbank, ruffled by the wind; to the right, the riverbank, green and crouching like a self-contained observer. No spectacle, no drama – only the quiet majesty of the expanse that welcomes you like an old acquaintance. A heron flies up, making a slow arc over the river. The light shimmers on the horizon. The fields lie there as if they had just decided to be summer. Cycling here isn't racing against time. It's pedaling into it. Everything slows down. Thoughts find their rhythm. And sometimes you simply stop, lean your bike against a post, sink onto the jetty – and watch. Just watch. And breathe.

The village church of Rhinow not only stands as beautifully as churches in Brandenburg do – it also tells stories. Of fire and reconstruction, of piety and nobility, of organ builders and sculptors, of pilgrims and the Pietà. Built in the 13th century from Brandenburg fieldstone, then burned down in 1735, and rebuilt by 1740 – it bears all this with the calm of one that has seen much. Inside: a horseshoe gallery like a Baroque viewing balcony, a Lütkemüller organ from 1848 that still plays on Sundays. The wall features coats of arms of the von Hagen family, and a golden sun hovers above the altar – a symbolic God in the countryside. It is especially quiet down in the tower, where a carved Pietà from the 15th century stands: Mary, holding the dead Christ in her arms. A scene as old as human compassion. Those who dismount their bikes here may feel the long-lasting impact of history – and be happy to find a bench in the shade, a drink of water, and a sense that pilgrimage can be not just a path, but also an attitude.

There are paths that lead not only through the countryside, but into the very heart of wonder. Between meadows, water, and expanse, a panorama opens up here that's so tranquil that you almost stop your bike so as not to disturb it. You roll relaxed along the dike, with lush meadows to your left and the sparkling Havel River to your right, winding through its own floodplains as if it had all the time in the world. The air is soft, and the birds have taken over: greylag geese, lapwings, and occasionally even the white stork. And you? You ride. Slowly. Because you want to, not because you have to. This isn't about kilometers, but about moments. And about the one thought that quietly joins in: How good that I'm here.

Here you cycle along the expansive floodplains of the Havel. You can let your gaze wander far over the wet meadows, all the way to the river. With a bit of luck you can also observe birds that feel particularly at home in the floodplains.
