Beautiful church directly above the Elbe-Lübeck Canal... you can't miss it if you cross the canal on the bridge right in front of it.

Dromedaries? While all dromedaries are camels, not all camels are dromedaries. Camels with two humps are not dromedaries (but Bactrian camels)!

Unfortunately, I found the large church closed (on weekdays). However, there's a lovely bench in front of the church, and the old gravestones and crosses around the church are worth exploring.

A beautiful view is worth it

The animals are very curious. Something different in the provinces ;-)

The old town of Bad Oldesloe captivates with its historic charm and idyllic location at the confluence of the Trave and Beste rivers. Especially around Hude Square, you can still experience medieval Oldesloe, with its old buildings and winding alleys.

I prefer riding on old railway lines. The surface is perfect and always flat. :D

Sierksrade station was a stop on the so-called Kaiserbahn. This was a single-track railway line from Bad Oldesloe via Ratzeburg to Hagenow-Land in Mecklenburg. The line is said to have been built at the instigation of Kaiser Wilhelm II because the Kaiser wanted a shorter route for his journeys from Berlin to the naval base in Kiel than via Lübeck or Hamburg. The line was opened in 1897. When the border was drawn after the Second World War, the line was interrupted and became meaningless. Passenger traffic was stopped in 1962, and freight traffic (mainly sugar beet) was abandoned in 1971. The railway embankment was demolished soon after. Between Siebenbäumen and Berkenthin, a section still serves as a cycle path, in other places the route can only be made out at individual bends.
