Vârful Măgura offers 360° panoramic views over the Cindrel and Făgăraș Mountains – it’s worth the climb! The last stretch is steep and exposed, so bring good hiking shoes, sun protection, and a windproof layer. On clear days, it’s a perfect spot for a long break and some unforgettable photos.

Bâlea Lac is an amazing lake to visit. Just by the most famous road in Romania, Transfăgăråșan. Stop by at a restaurant here with a view towards the lake if you feel hungry. Awesome landscape and road to the lake.

Sibiu's Evangelical Parish Church on Huet Square is one of the most impressive Gothic buildings in Transylvania. It is both a cathedral and a parish church for the local Evangelical community. Its current form was rebuilt in 1520 and is based on the structure of the old Romanesque basilica from the 12th century. The interior of the church is in Gothic style, with arched vaults and tombstones on the north walls. In 1867, the church became a cathedral because the seat of the Saxon-Lutheran episcopate was moved from Biertan to Sibiu. The building is dominated by a seven-story tower with four turrets at the corners. At 74 meters high, it is the second highest church tower in Romania (after that of the Evangelical Church in Bistrița, which is one meter higher). In 1914, the large church organ, the largest organ in southeastern Europe, was installed and completely renovated in 1997.

Staying overnight in this hostel is recommended due to its prime location. The rooms are clean and simply furnished. The food from the grill is good, breakfast is very regional, simple and good.

My hike required surefootedness and a good level of fitness. Alpine equipment or experience in alpine climbing were not necessary.

Climbing the tower via the stairs is worthwhile because of the beautiful view.
