I don't understand why it is indicated as S1. It is a road mostly suitable for vehicles, without difficulty. After the Dutch house some sections are in concrete. It is feasible both downhill from Monte Battagliola and uphill, definitely more fun, from the casolana (Cardello area). The only precaution when passing by the Dutch farmhouse is to moderate your speed because there may be people.

The name of this mountain should derive from a great battle fought between the Goths and the Byzantines in the 6th century. Over the years it was also used as a hideout for bandits. On its summit stand the fortress of Monte Battaglia and the monument to peace between peoples.
